DescriptionOn November 27, 1979, surfer Kenny Doudt was savagely attacked by a Great White Shark near Cannon Beach, Oregon. The 15-ft shark bit Doudt nearly in half, then ripped at him as his surfing buddies looked on in horror. The 10:30 AM attack at Haystack Rock was the first time in recorded history that a Great White had seriously assaulted a human off the coast of Oregon. This was also the northernmost recorded attack in the world. Miraculously, the 26 year old carpenter survived. This is his story of the attack, of emergency surgery to save his life, and of recovering to surf again. On View
