For Lorrin Harrison, that list included outrigger canoes, lobster traps, hats hand-woven of cocoa palm leaves and surfboards, from the solid wooden planks of the early 1900s to the urethane foam models of today. In the process, Lorrin and his pals unconsciously invented the contemporary beach lifestyle.
