DescriptionIn the winter of 1960-61, Chuck Quinn shared a house with Bud Browne on the North Shore next door to where Hobie Alter was staying. Often surfing together, Hobie Alter promised to make Chuck a board when they got back to California. The board eventually got loaned out, subsequently lost, and later was purchased by Dick Metz in Sacramento around 1982. Chuck Quinn came across where it was being displayed at the Dana Point Hobie store in 1997. He dug up the original receipt which showed the same serial numbers as those on the board. We have that original receipt and a letter by Chuck Quinn describing the entire event. Hobie Alter made this unique board for his friend Chuck Quinn. This board has a stock longboard shape. It is foam with multi-curved stringers, a clear glass job, and glassed on fin. It is #1773.
