DescriptionMade on the beach at Belmont Shores, Long Beach, California, in 1944 by Bob “Hammerhead” Gravitch for Joe Riddick. Hammerhead became a high school teacher and in recent years became known as a significant surf historian. He authored several long letters that have found their way into circulation amongst his old friends and interested parties, describing characters of the period and life as he saw it at San Onofre.
