DescriptionThis surfing model, made with Mahogany side rails and planked with Weldwood waterproof 3-ply panel, was one of seven different surfboard and paddleboard models offered through the Rogers Company and features a wooden fin and a round brass drain plug. 1932-1939. The Thomas Rogers Company, located in Venice Beach, California was the first company to commercially manufacture surfboards and paddleboards. These were built for the West Coast of California, Canada, and Europe and were also available in kit form. Thomas Rogers built his own boards under the name Hawaiian Paddleboards during the war, without the Blake plug, and was not licensed to build any more with Tom after 1939. The hollow board now featured transverse bracing.
