DescriptionPopular on the beaches in California and Hawaii, Kiddie Boards were built for smaller, shorebreak types of waves and would have been used for surfing in the prone position. Pacific System Homes built a variety of surf-riding boards ranging from these smaller 5’ boards to some much larger Olo style boards (see Kaiulani 14’) that the Hawaiian Beach Boys were using for their personal riders and tandem boards in Waikiki.
Build health, strength and poise in growing bodies. Especially popular with juviniles. These 5 and 6-foot Surfboards (curved up nose type) are finished in natural colors–visible for great distances. All ‘Waikiki’ boards are precision built with modern up-to-date machinery for a life-time of service in the world‘s largest home-building plant. The woods are specially selected. The Balsa wood is hand-sorted from finest imported stocks, scientifically kilned, laminated and cabinet finished by expert craftsmen under the personal direction of a professional surf-board aquatist. Waikiki Boards are not hollow, will not expand or contract and are not subject to leaks. (excerpt from the Waikiki Surf-board Co. promotional pamphlet. This company was a subsidiary of Pacific System Homes; manufacturers of pre-fab houses in Los Angeles, CA)
