DescriptionThis board is one of three “suitcase boards” made for Bruce Brown’s movie The Endless Summer, but never used. The bolt-together pieces were designed for the small cargo holds of Lockheed planes of that time. Fortunately, airplanes increased in size along with the size of their cargo holds and Hobie abandoned this project for the most part. To this day, Pope manufactures a bi-sect model that has perfected this method of construction. This surfboard was featured in the exhibit Surf Culture that was organized by the Laguna Art Museum and toured around the world for two years to various destinations; including Hawaii, New York, and Australia. The board has clear glass, a turquoise foam T-band, and features a big Hobie logo, along with a glassed-on fin.On View
