DescriptionThis board is a classic example of the Brewer mini-gun, shaped in Hanapepe on the island of Kauai during this formulative period of the transitional era.No other shaper in Hawaii has been as prolific as Richard “RB” Brewer. Since the early ’60s with the formation of the Surfboards Hawaii label, through stints with major mainland manufactures such as Hobie, Bing, Harbour, InterIsland, Greek, and a handful of others, to his underground Lahaina Surf Design, Hanapepe Surf Shop and finally Dick Brewer Surfboards. He ushered in the shortboard era with his mini-guns, and set the standard for the modern day big wave gun. He has continued to be on the cutting edge of surfboard design from the “elephant guns” of old to the contemporary tow boards of today.
