DescriptionTom Parrish is considered one of the premiere shapers of the ’70s & ’80s. He is arguably the most popular post Brewer shaper to emerge from the midway through the 1970s. Raised in Southern California, he started making boards at the age of 17. Moving to Hawaii in 1969, he worked for Surf Line Hawaii and Country Surfboards before moving on to Lightning Bolt. While there, he shaped quivers for Jeff Hakman, Mark Richards, Ian Cairns, Shaun Thomson, P.T., Rabbit Bartholomew, and Margo Oberg, as well as many others. Tom Parrish is best known for his big-wave guns and semi-guns, especially the rounded-pintail models. He also mentored and influenced many well-known shapers such as Bill Barnfield, Phil Byrne, and Jim Banks, to name a few. This foam board has tapered stringers, a balsa tail block, and gun shape. On View
