DescriptionThis surfboard is a rare and distinctive piece, notable for its solid balsa wood construction, scarfed-on nose, and two 1" balsa stringers. It represents a transitional model crafted from wood during a period when foam boards were becoming the norm. It's worth noting that only around 300 boards with this label were produced, and this is the only one made from wood.
Dick Mobley, a seasoned shaper with a rich history in the industry, personally owned and rode this board. He began his shaping journey at the young age of 15 or 16. His career included working for renowned surfboard manufacturers such as Noll, Velzy, Jacobs, and Bing before eventually venturing out on his own.
The uniqueness of this wooden board and its connection to Dick Mobley's shaping expertise make it a noteworthy piece in surfboard history.
