This was Nat Young’s personal surfboard, which he rode on the North Shore during the winter of 1969 and with which he competed in the Duke Classic that year. This board features a distinctive Dewey Weber sunburst logo and a high-aspect fin foiled by George Greenough. The fin, wide and thick at the base, then sweeping and tapering to a raked tip, the fiberglass foil loads up on torque and propels the surfboard out of turns. “Design comes from nature, the fins in those days where crude lumps, the water flow and aquatic agility of the yellow fin tuna could change direction at high speed. I wanted to surf as freely as the tuna, so I could get as close to the source as possible”. – George GreenoughOn View
